The area is meticulously planned to support diverse maritime sectors, including shipping, shipbuilding, repair and maintenance, marine equipment, and maritime services.

DMC also offers an array of commercial spaces, like modern office towers and business centers. Many developers have also launched various off plan properties in the area, including waterfront apartments and penthouses.

Dubai Maritime City has been developed with green community standards as part of Dubai Maritime Vision 2023. DMC is linked to Sheikh Zayed Road (E11) through a causeway near Bur Dubai.
